Our Team

meet the key players in Yardstick

We’re a diverse bunch heading the business at Yardstick, coming from a range of backgrounds – tourism and culture to business development and design and marketing – all united by a shared passion for sustainability. We are also lucky to benefit from a team of expert advisors sitting on the Yardstick board.

Jenefer Bobbin

Jenefer worked in tourism for ten years with executive roles in London and New York before she became disenchanted by the lack of responsible tourism as a business ethos and, in 2007, gave up her job as a web developer for a leading UK travel agency to complete a Masters in Responsible Tourism Management. As part of her Master’s degree she spent considerable time in Nepal researching the need for a complementary system to certification that could be tailored to suit any travel business and any destination. Working with the Nepali tourism industry, she launched Yardstick.

Harold Goodwin

Harold has worked on four continents with local communities, governments and the tourism industry. He is Director of the International Centre for Responsible Tourism and Professor of Responsible Tourism Management at Leeds Metropolitan University. He also undertakes consultancy and evaluation for companies, NGOs, governments and international.

Jane Millington

Jane is a highly experienced writer and editor who heads our team of freelance report writers. She has worked in internal and external communications for a wide range of international corporations and public sector organisations.

Lisa Choegyal

Based in Kathmandu since 1974, Lisa is a specialist in planning, developing, operating and marketing pro-poor sustainable tourism. She has worked for over 20 years as Marketing and Communications Director with the Tiger Mountain Group – nature, adventure and village tourism pioneers in Nepal, India and Tibet – and offers tourism consultancy with TRC Tourism.

Sharon Wiley

With a background in cultural anthropology and environmental geography, Sharon has a keen respect for diversity and an awareness of the impact that people have on the environments in which we live. Her career has spanned branch management, business analysis, and product management and she is currently the Vice President of Marketing for a large corporation in Canada.
